Lauren Carlini announced as the #1 Ranked Senior Ace by PrepVolleyball.com

Watch Carlini play and be amazed. She's phenomenally dynamic in every aspect of the game, and she just might be the best player in the gym in every skill set. Her athleticism and body control shine as she flies for a ball defensively, or chases a pass down across the court. When Carlini jump sets, time seems to stand still as she delivers sweet accurate sets time and time again. She has been with Sports Performance VBC since she was in first grade (6 years old) and she has been a member of that club longer than any other player. Club director Rick Butler calls Carlini "possibly the most complete player" he has ever coached. "She does not have a single weakness on the court and her overall skill level is the highest I have seen in a junior player since Logan Tom in 1998. Not only is she an outstanding setter, but she is a great point scorer as both an attacker and a blocker and her defensive and serving skills are excellent." Carlini doesn’t just have terrific natural talent; she has a work ethic that’s second to none and an absolute will to in every competition. She never gives less than her best and she is an absolute animal in the weight room, which makes her stand out from many other high school age players who really have not learned yet how crucial that part of the training is to their long term health and development. Carlini set the USA Youth National Team in Turkey in 2011 and was also named the MVP of the USA High Performance Tournament in Tucson that same summer. She has her sights on playing in the Olympics one day. An excellent student, the intense Carlini has been a four-year starter at West Aurora. She will also be a surefire four-year starter at Wisconsin, where she has committed.
